Norma Welch

Norma A. Welch, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Paul and Valeria Grasser Glueck.

Norma worked for many years in sales for Hutson's Furniture Store in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband, Tom of Cape Girardeau; son, Jeff Mabrey of Macomb, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer Reames of Prairieville, Louisiana; step-children, Tim Welch of St. Petersburg, Florida, Angie James of Hemphill, Texas and Clint Welch of Spokane, Washington; brothers, Larry Glueck of Cape Girardeau and Jim Glueck of Moulton, Texas; sisters, Verna Eaker and Marilyn Lappe, both of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Chris Mabrey, Derek Mabrey, Kayla Mabrey, Jackson Mabrey, Elijah Reames, Olivia Reames, Charlie Welch, Dylan Welch, Atalie James, Kelsie James, Calvin Welch and Reese Welch; great-grandchild, Reese Mabrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers. memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association -- Greater St. Louis Chapter, (636) 778-3377, in memory of Norma Welch.

Due to COVID concerns and for the safety of all family and friends, there will not be a public memorial service. A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial of ashes will take place in the cremation garden at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
