Norma Seabaugh

Norma Annie Seabaugh, 88, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Jefferson City Manor.

She was born Feb. 16, 1921, at Caney Creek, Mo., daughter of Martin and Helen Baudendistel Halter. She and Dannie Carter Seabaugh were married June 30, 1947. He died Aug. 14, 1984.

During World War II she was employed in Detroit as one of the Rosie the Riveters building airplanes for the government. She also worked as a packer for Florsheim Shoe Co.

Norma was a 50-year member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau and its quilting club. She was currently a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City and St. Ann's Sodality, and volunteered with the Samaritan Center in Jefferson City.

Norma is survived by a son, Danny R. (Alicia) Seabaugh of Jackson; two daughters, Shirley A. Seabaugh of Jefferson City, Donna M. (David) Plummer of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, Harold Halter of Royal Oak, Mich., Charles Halter of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Lorene Sykes of Lakewood, Colo., Lucille McCune of Affton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kimberly and Melissa Seabaugh, Audra (Jerome) Golson, Carla Driver and Kwannesha Payne; and two great-grandsons, Devin Payne and Jerome Golson II.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cleophas and Vincent; and two sisters, Celestine and Mary.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Saviour Nundwe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
