Norma Jean Helen McBay Pulliam, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at Southeast Hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Doniphan, Missouri, the daughter of Elton Lee and Alice Jewell Kelley McBay. She and Raymond C. Pulliam were married Dec. 13, 1947. Norma Jean Helen McBay Pulliam, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Doniphan, Missouri, the daughter of Elton Lee and Alice Jewell Kelley McBay. She and Raymond C. Pulliam were married Dec. 13, 1947. He preceded her in death July 29, 2009.

Norma Jean attended Jackson High School. She worked 30 years at Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau. She also did construction work and attained her real estate license while working at Able Realty. She then operated an in-home day care center for several years.

Norma Jean was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. She was very strong in her Christian faith.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Marlene (TJ) Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Jeanette (Harold) James of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Sally Welker (Scott Clippard) of Cape Girardeau; a son-in-law, Kenny Keller; a daughter-in-law, Patty Pulliam; 13 grandchildren, Kenny Keller, Wendy Lewison, Ricky Keller, Jeff and Scott Golden, Tabbi Lincoln, Danny and Nathanael James, Chris and Mike Welker, Ray, Brad and Staci Pulliam; 31 great-grandchildren; and was soon expecting four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Baker of Festus; and seven half siblings.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lee Pulliam; a daughter, Bonnie Keller; a granddaughter, Candace James Ricketts; a great-grandson, Alex Keller; two sisters; and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Face masks are required for visitation and funeral service.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the National Parkinson's Foundation.
