FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Norma Jean "Mutsie" Welker Greif, 73, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Farmington. She was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Perryville, daughter of Glenton and Elizabeth Macke Welker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Greif Sr. in 1987; three sisters, Myrna Thomas, Gert Hudson and Barbara Simpson; five brothers, Dick Welker, Bob Welker, Joseph Welker, Eugene Hart and Rod Hart...

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Norma Jean "Mutsie" Welker Greif, 73, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Farmington.

She was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Perryville, daughter of Glenton and Elizabeth Macke Welker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Greif Sr. in 1987; three sisters, Myrna Thomas, Gert Hudson and Barbara Simpson; five brothers, Dick Welker, Bob Welker, Joseph Welker, Eugene Hart and Rod Hart.

Norma was united in marriage Jan. 17, 1959, to Robert Eugene Greif Sr. in Perryville.

She was a longtime faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington. She was an avid sports fan who often knew more than the officials! Norma opened the doors at Farmington Community Hospital, working there as an ICU nurse many years. She was an avid reader and volunteered at the Thrift Store. Mutsie loved watching her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Peter) Maher of Cape Girardeau, Debby (Jerry) Hulsey of Desloge, Mo., Marty (Butch) Colvin and Jenny (Blaine) Davault of Farmington, Becky (Elliott) Shostak of University City, Mo., Peggy (Tim) Bone and Robbie (Amy) Greif Jr. of Farmington, Sarah Greif of Farmington; two sisters, Margie (Ron) Heck of Trenton, Ill., and Marie "Pete" Voelker of Perryville.

Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, Liam Maher, Andy Fox, Lucas Hulsey, Nick Hulsey, Sam Hulsey, Frankie Hulsey, Joe Hulsey, Matt Herbst, Jessica Mattingly, Eric Herbst, Kelsey Davault, Connor Davault, Ben Shostak, Aidan Shostak, Alex Greif, Zach Greif, Jacob Bone, Gracie Bone, Emily Greif, Molly Greif and Nate Greif; five great-grandchildren; and many special friends.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 9 a.m. Monday at Taylor Funeral Service in Farmington. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ricky Valleroy officiating. Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery at Farmington.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
