McCLURE, Ill. — Norma Elaine Glenn, 93, of McClure passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 1, 1929, the daughter of the late Samuel and Nellie Jane Cleaver Wallace.
Norma was a homemaker for most of her life. She was an ordained minister in the non-denominational faith and previously co-pastor of Words of Faith Center. She most recently attended Bethel Assembly of God in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed traveling, camping and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include her four daughters, Marilyn (Ronnie) Ashworth of East Cape Girardeau, Illinois, Debbie (Mike) Penrod of Steeleville, Illinois, Becky (Jeff) Betts of Denver and Lisa Hayes (fiance, Donald Dane) of Hillsboro, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Vicki Betts of Paducah, Kentucky; four grandsons, Matt Ashworth, Michael (Kelley) Betts, Rob (Sarah) Betts and Ethan Copeland; eight granddaughters, Melissa Taylor, Julie (Eric) Powell, Jeanna (Tony) Weatherby, Heather (Ryan) Rushing, Marla (Steve) Latham, Jessica Copeland, Emily (Andrew) Lyons and Abby (Jesse) Richard; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many brothers and sisters in Christ.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard "Rick" Farris; sisters, Elsie Williams and Margaret Vohle; brother, Capt. Lloyd Cox; son, Michael W. Betts; grandson, Jeff Ashworth; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau, with Pastor Phil Roop officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Cypress Cemetery in Cypress, Illinois. Pallbearers will be Eric Powell, Ethan Copeland, Steve Latham, Jesse Richard, Noah Weatherby and Nathan Weatherby.
