Nora Martha Daniel, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born May 18, 1902, at Houck, daughter of William H. and Sophia J. Sander Deneke. She and the Rev. Alfred H. Daniel were married May 19, 1946, at Poplar Bluff. He died Dec. 11, 1986.
Daniel had taught at Whitewater, Maple Grove, and other area schools. She was a member of St. Mark's Chapter Order of Eastern Star and Calvary Shrine No. 12.
She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church at Gordonville, and attended Grace United Methodist Church. She taught a women's Bible class, was involved in Church Women United, was conference director of children's work and had been active in other areas of the church.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mary Witt and Martha Beuershausen of San Antonio, Texas; 10 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, five brothers, and six sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Church, with the Revs. Conway Briscoe and Larry Gallamore officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
