EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Nona P. Davenport of Troy will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Ted Wimberley will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Davenport, 76, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 1995, at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy.
She was born Dec. 11, 1918, daughter of Frank and Leah Brown. She and Amos J. Davenport were married Feb. 26, 1933. He died Jan. 14, 1987.
Davenport had lived in East Prairie most of her life, and was a member of First Baptist Church here.
Survivors include seven sons, Bruce Davenport of Buckhead, Ga., Darrell Davenport of Chattanooga, Tenn., Amos Davenport Jr. of Jackson, Tenn., LeRoy Davenport of Diehlstadt, Eugene and Kenneth Davenport of St. Louis. Cletus Davenport of Fetsus; five daughters, Bonnie Evans of Foley, Annetta Pocilujko of Hannibal, Linda Nausley of Bonne Terre, Mary Brewer and Georgia Hagen of East Prairie; 30 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons.
