SIKESTON, Mo. -- Nola Mae "Diddie" Hays, 74, of Sikeston died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1927, in Commerce, Mo., daughter of Robert Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Burns Hampton. She and Everett W. Hays Sr. were married Nov. 15, 1944, at Sikeston.
She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and worked for 10 years in the Sikeston Middle School cafeteria. She had also worked at the International Shoe Factory in Sikeston.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Everett William Hays Jr. of Pontoon Beach, Ill., Mike Hays of Goose Creek, S. C., Dennis Hays of Wappapello, Mo., and Stephen Hays of Sikeston; two daughters, Shirley Dixon of Washington, Ill., and Mary Jane Pierce of Sikeston; a brother, Robert Hampton of Sikeston; two sisters, Euna Adams of Paris, Tenn., and Naomi Hampton of Paris, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Eugene Lambert and Tim Buchheit will officiate, with the Rev. Billie Butler assisting. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
