Noell Bailey

Noell Bailey of Cape Girardeau died peacefully at home Friday, June 7, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

He is now in heaven with Jesus!

Noell was born July 17, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee.

He graduated from Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, and was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.

He married Connie Neal Reeves in 1983 at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis.

Noell was an avid fisherman and loved being with his fishing "buddy" — Porter. He spent many happy summer vacations at Gulf Shores, Alabama, with his family and friends.

Noell and Connie moved to the Jackson-Cape Girardeau area in 2007.

He was a strong, faithful Christian man who followed Jesus' commandment to share the gospel with others (Mark 16:15). He wanted to tell others about Jesus' love for them (John 3:16) and his plan of salvation (Romans 10:9-10). For some time, Noell made it his mission to minister to local prison inmates.

Besides his wife, Connie, survivors include his sister, Kathie B. Cavette of Memphis; nephew, Porter Cavette of Collierville, Tennessee; niece, Dr. Kathie Leigh Cavette of Oxford; and mother-in-law, Marie Neal of Jackson.

In place of a funeral, there will be a celebration of Noell's life to be scheduled soon at Lynwood Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Lynwood Christian Academy or a humane society of your choice.
