JACKSON, Mo. -- Funeral for Nina Lee Chastain of Jackson was held Monday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Gary Petty officiated. Burial was in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.

Chastain, 39, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at her home.

She was born July 3, 1961, in St. Louis, daughter of Henry Wesley and Roberta E. Baumgardner Short Sr.

Chastain was a secretary at Cottonwood Treatment Center in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her mother, Roberta Layton of Dexter; a brother, Henry Short Jr. of Benton, Mo.; and a sister, Deborah DeLaCruz of Scott City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father.
