SIKESTON -- Newton H. "Newt" Pearson, 78, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1992, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

He was born Oct. 19, 1913, in Center Ridge, Ark., son of William Rufus and Charity Gordon Pearson. He and Stella Pearl Shipp were married Oct. 20, 1933, in Springfield, Ark.

Pearson was a farmer, and member of Sikeston Eagles 3319.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Carl Pearson of Sikeston, Charles Pearson of Edgewood, Md.; two daughters, Kathryne Bailey of Bell, Linda Ray of Lyons, Ill.; five brothers, Herb Pearson of Waukegan, Ill., Billy Pearson of Clinton, Ark., Charlie Pearson of Plumerville, Ark., Rufus Pearson of Austin, Texas, Reedy Pearson of LaVerne Claif.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Beard officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
