DEXTER -- Funeral service for Nettie E. Vickery of Dexter will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Jimmy Kirby will officiate, with burial in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
Vickery, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 6, 1916, at Essex, daughter of Lawrence and Bessie Baird West. She and Roy Earl Vickery were married Oct. 15, 1944. He died March 21, 1993.
Vickery moved to Dexter in 1945 from Essex. She retired from Elder Manufacturing Co. in Dexter, and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carole Link of DeSoto; a stepson, Freddie Vickery of Dexter; two brothers, Eugene West of Dallas, Texas, Ernest West of Cupertino, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Owens of Essex, Maxine Bitler of Jasper, Tenn., Irene Alderman of Pontiac, Mich.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
