ULLIN, Ill. -- Funeral for Nettie Rodgers of Ullin, formerly of Mounds, Ill., will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Assembly of God Church in Mounds. The Rev. Ernest Browning will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.
Friends may call at the church from noon until time of service.
Barkett Funeral Home of Mounds is in charge of arrangements.
Rodgers, 79, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at the home of a daughter in Ullin.
She was born May 2, 1922, in Villa Ridge, daughter of John and Cuba Dowdy Burkhart. She married Lawrence F. Rodgers, who died in 1990.
Rodgers was a retired hairstylist and owned Nettie's Beauty Shop in Mounds. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mounds.
Survivors include four daughters, Joyce Rundle of New Boston, Texas, Freida Sheible of Mounds, JoAnn Sissom of Olive Branch, Ill., Lisa Blake of Ullin; eight sons, Henry Rodgers of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Lawrence Rodgers of Hudson, Fla., Dewey Rodgers of Kimmswick, Mo., Arthur and Louis Rodgers of Olive Branch, Michael Rodgers of Mounds, Lawrence Rodgers Jr. of Benton, Mo., Ronald Rodgers of Old Town, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a stepson, a brother, and a sister.
