She was married to Arthur Scott, who preceded her in death. She later married Harry Reed, who also preceded her in death...

MILL CREEK, Ill. -- Nettie Reed, 84, of Mill Creek died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at her home.

She was born May 13, 1914, at Butteridge, daughter of Henry Clay and Bertha Vera Lacer Briner. She was married to Arthur Scott, who preceded her in death. She later married Harry Reed, who also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Charlie Scott of Elgin; a brother, Byron Briner of Granite City; two sisters, Stella Deming of Mill Creek and Pearl Byrd of Memphis, Tenn.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Hileman & Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Revs. Raymond Oxford and Danny Miller will officiate, with burial in the St. Johns Cemetery.
