Nettie Brown

Nettie Jean Brown, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Ernest Lee and Mary (Curry) Bowman.

Nettie worked at Tipton Linen in Cape Girardeau for several years and was of the Church of God faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Lillie Jean (David) Kilburn of Benton, Missouri, and Nettie (Charles) Youngerman of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and one on the way; and a special caregiver, Darla Tillman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Brown; one son; one daughter; one brother; and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at noon Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape.
