MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Nellie Ruth Yount, 70, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Mayfield, Mo., daughter of Dave and Oma Jones James. She and Dale K. Yount were married Dec. 3, 1949, at Bessville, Mo.
Yount was a member of Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Larry, Rodger and Lonnie Yount of Marble Hill, Mark Yount of Marquand, Mo.; five daughters, Dorothy Stewart, Brenda Mills and Margaret Welker of Marble Hill, Rose Wagganer and Barbara Wagganer of Fredericktown, Mo.
Also surviving are three brothers, Lindell "Bud" James of Marble Hill, Glen "Bay" James of Cabool, Mo., Jim James of Jackson, Mo.; five sisters, Lucille Garland and Edna Cook of Marble Hill, Nettie Jacobs of Cape Girardeau, Norma "Dean" Proffer of Fruitland, Mo., Linda "Toad" Bazzell of Jackson; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, a daughter, a brother, three sisters, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Steve Sander and Kirby Grindstaff officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery near Bessville.
