NELLIE HENDERSON

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Nellie Henderson, 85, of Mounds, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 9, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 10, 1910, to Champ and Elzora Byrd Bailey in Thebes, Ill.

She married Melvin C. Henderson on May 24, 1928. He died May 10, 1980.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Coleson and Lillie Modglin, both of Mounds, and Sharon Ivy of Villa Ridge, Ill.; six sons, Vernon Henderson of Olive Branch, Melvin Henderson of Cape Girardeau, and Paul Henderson, Benny Henderson, Wayne Henderson and Kenny Henderson, all of Mounds; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and four sisters.

Henderson attended the Assembly of God Church in Mounds.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday until the service.

Funeral service will be at the funeral home Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Vester Keesee officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
