SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Nellie Elizabeth Powers of White Hall, Ark., formerly of Scott City, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Powers, 89, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1992, at her home.

She was born May 15, 1903, in Palestine, Ark., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Capps. She and Charles Aaron Powers were married Aug. 7, 1946, in Kingsland, Ark. He died Jan. 29, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Charles Newlin of White Hall; a stepson, Charles Powers of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Frances Luebke of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, brother, sister and stepson.
