SCOTT CITY -- Nell Walden, 93, of Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997.
She was born Sept. 26, 1903, at Allenville, the daughter of Joel Mathis and Sarah Isabelle Rhodes English.
She married Ray Nelson Walden on Dec. 26, 1926, at East Prairie. He died on Aug. 5, 1970.
She was a first-grade teacher for 33 years. She retired from the Scott City School District in 1964.
She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City and St. Mark's Chapter O.E.S. in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a niece, Peggy Stanfield of Cape Girardeau, and a nephew, Joe English of Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 2-5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
The Rev. Jim King will officiate, with burial in Stroderville Cemetery at Whitewater.
