ALTENBURG -- Nelda H. Schuessler, 82, of Altenburg died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 28, 1917, at New Wells, daughter of Oswald H. and Augusta E. Pfeiffer Haertling. She and Bernhard C. Schuessler were married Sept. 21, 1935. He died Oct. 29, 1989.
Schuessler retired as a paster at International Shoe Co. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Schuessler of Levittown, Pa., Gene Schuessler of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Clarence "C.R." Haertling of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, and 10 brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30 to noon.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Al Strand officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
