Nelda Ludwig, 100, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Fruitland, daughter of Theodor "Pete" and Bertha "Betty" A. Pfeiffer Leimer. She and Ervin Ludwig married Aug. 27, 1944. He passed away Nov. 15, 1998.
Nelda was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was the oldest living member of the congregation.
She is lovingly survived by a daughter, Betty Jo Ludwig of Pocahontas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ervin, Tillman, Melvin, Norman and Wilmer Leimer; and two sisters, Alma Leimer and Irma Kasten.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Pocahontas.
The family suggests contributions be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
