COBDEN, Ill. -- Neda Monica Yates, 80, of Cobden, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born July 8, 1918, at Provencal, La., daughter of Elmer Lawrence and Mary Helen Ritchie Wilder. She married Joseph Highland Yates Jan. 3, 1943, in LaCompte, La. He died in 1995.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cobden and was a veteran of World War II serving as a registered nurse.
Survivors include a son, Larry Yates of Cobden; three daughters, Susan Yates of Las Vegas, Nev., Maryann Yates of Cobden, Lori Albers of Alto Pass; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery, with military rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
