ADVANCE -- Nathan M. Sims, 82, of Advance, died Monday, March 8, 1993, at Advance Nursing Care Center. He was born May 6, 1910, at Tilman, son of James J. and Ina B. Dunlap Sims. He and Dortha E. Johnson were married Sept. 20, 1931. Sims had been foreman with WPA, chairman of ASC Office in Bloomfield, worked at Union Central Real Estate and Insurance in Sikeston 10 years, and owned and operated Sims Implement Co. 20 years. ADVANCE -- Nathan M. Sims, 82, of Advance, died Monday, March 8, 1993, at Advance Nursing Care Center.

He was born May 6, 1910, at Tilman, son of James J. and Ina B. Dunlap Sims. He and Dortha E. Johnson were married Sept. 20, 1931.

Sims had been foreman with WPA, chairman of ASC Office in Bloomfield, worked at Union Central Real Estate and Insurance in Sikeston 10 years, and owned and operated Sims Implement Co. 20 years. He had also farmed.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Sims of Washington, Mo.; four daughters, Patsy Jenkins of Phoenix, Ariz., Billie Harris and Gaynell Fowler of Advance, Sharon Spane of Bartlett, Ill.; four sisters, Carol Felker and Bee Thayer of West Palm Beach, Fla., Anna Swallows of Bloomfield, Ina Prather of Advance; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Virgil Bunch will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
