BENTON, Mo. -- Nathan Hale, 49, of Deland, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.
He was born April 4, 1964, in St. Louis to Morris and Elizabeth Vinson Hale.
Nathan was a farmhand with Michael Farms in Benton many years, and after his move worked with Herff Jones Cap and Gown 12 years until his death. He was of the Baptist belief. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and Indian artifacts.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Morris of Deland; a daughter, Magen Housman of Charleston, Mo.; five brothers, Allan (Carolyn) Hale and Paul Hale of Benton, Wayne Hale of French Village, Mo., William Hale of Bloomsdale, Mo., and Tommy (Rhonda) Hale of Bertrand; a sister, Cynthia (Donald) Crowden of Benton; 26 special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kontrell Hale.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton, with the Rev. Denis Lowe officiating.
