SIKESTON -- Naomi Davis Vandivort, 99, of Sikeston died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born April 26, 1896, at Paducah, Ky., daughter of Samuel Clayton and Nancy Butler Davis. She married Leon Vandivort on Nov. 1, 1917. He preceded her in death in 1967...

SIKESTON -- Naomi Davis Vandivort, 99, of Sikeston died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born April 26, 1896, at Paducah, Ky., daughter of Samuel Clayton and Nancy Butler Davis. She married Leon Vandivort on Nov. 1, 1917. He preceded her in death in 1967.

Vandivort was one of 10 children. Her parents died when she was young, and she was raised by an older sister, Artie Seagraves of Cape Girardeau. She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Gold Star Mothers.

She is survived by a son, William S. Vandivort of Sikeston; and a daughter, Artie Lee Britt of Enid, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A son, daughter, two brothers and seven sisters preceded her in death.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Lorimier Cemetery, with the Rev. John Owen officiating.

Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
