DALLAS, Texas -- Nancy Arlene "Cissy" (Childers) Young was born Aug. 31, 1962, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to parents George and Nancy (Lambert) Young. She passed away from natural causes with family by her side on Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, in Dallas.
She graduated from Kelly High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University in 1980-81. She married Conrad Young on Aug. 22, 1981, and was a military spouse for 29 years.
She was mother to Daniel Nathan Young and Lindsay Paige Young. Cissy was also an animal activist and volunteered with the Anatolian Shepherd Rescue of North Dallas for many years.
Cissy is survived by her loving husband, Conrad Lynn Young of Frisco, Texas; children, Daniel Nathan Young of Belews Creek, North Carolina, and Lindsay Paige Young of Frisco, Texas; mother Nancy Ann Childers of Jackson; brother, George Andrew Childers of Belleview, Missouri; sisters, Ami Jean Walton and Penny Jane Coleman, both of Millersville; three grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by two Anatolian shepherds, one Affenpinscher and two Siamese kittens.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Childers; an aunt, Brenda Henneman; two grandmothers and two grandfathers.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held between 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday at Crossroads Fellowship Baptist Church in Jackson, with Pastor Brian Anderson officiating.
Nancy will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 14.
