EAST PRAIRIE -- Myrtle Evelyn Nolen, 65, of East Prairie died Monday, Feb. 27, 1995, at her home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Mississippi County, daughter of William and Dura Duty Nolen.
Nolen resided in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and was a former teacher in the Anniston, Wyatt and Crosno school systems.
Survivors include six sisters, Ruth Scott of St. Louis, Modest Grider of Benton, Ky., Earlene Riley and Bernice Culp of East Prairie, Lillian Cowser of Charleston and Beatrice Doorack of Sunset Hills; and a brother, Earl Russell Nolen of Anniston.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call today after 6 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Burl Britt and Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
