ANNA, Ill. -- Myrtle E. King, 88, of Anna, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1993, at the City Care Center here. She was born Oct. 27, 1905, the daughter of Richard and Martha Stone Pender. She married Nathaniel King in Murphysboro in 1923. He died Fed. 10, 1988...

ANNA, Ill. -- Myrtle E. King, 88, of Anna, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1993, at the City Care Center here.

She was born Oct. 27, 1905, the daughter of Richard and Martha Stone Pender. She married Nathaniel King in Murphysboro in 1923. He died Fed. 10, 1988.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Reynoldsville Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Roy King of Anna, Fred King of Charlotte, Mich., and Richard King of Jonesboro; four daughters, Betty King and Laura Spiller of Anna, Geneva Jackson of Jonesboro, and Mary Elkins or Metropolis; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Norris and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
