Myron Joseph Valleroy, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 8, 1922, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, to the late J. Vincent and Magdalene Vaeth Valleroy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Jokerst Valleroy, and three siblings, Vincent Valleroy, Robert Valleroy and Joan Wehrman.
He was a member of VFW Post No. 2210 and American Legion Post No. 150. Myron served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy, served on the Church of Ste. Genevieve choir and St. Vincent de Paul Society and donated his time for over 20 years at the nutrition center. Myron retired from Mississippi Lime Co. as a purchasing agent.
He is survived by his children, Ellen Valleroy, Stephen Valleroy, Daniel Valleroy, James Valleroy, Nancy Wambach, Paul Valleroy and Chris Valleroy; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His sister, Mary Ann Zerwig; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends also survive.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wood Family Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
A memorial Mass will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Ste. Genevieve, with Father Gregory Klump officiating.
