ADVANCE -- Myrl Dean Harris, 59, of Advance died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 5, 1938, daughter of John and Leota Speer Harris in Kankakee, Ill. On Sept. 28, 1985, she married Dola Meador, who also died on Sept. 12, 1997. She worked as a supervisor for James River in Hazelwood and was an avid golfer. She was a of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Harris of St. Charles; one stepdaughter, Janice Van Matre of Virginia Beach, Va.; six stepsons, Dan Long of Grand Rapids, Mich., Parks Long of Jacksonville, Fla., Mike Long of Advance, Chris Long of Chicago, Ill., and Mick and John Drowds, both of St. Charles; two sisters, Linda Shell and Betty Sitzes, both of Marble Hill; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter.
Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hutchings Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will take place Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel, the Rev. George Hutchings presiding. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery.
