EAST PRAIRIE -- Murray Maynard, 79, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1920, at Diehlstadt, son of Ernest and Mae Cox Maynard. He and Juanita Jones were married Nov. 6, 1945.
Maynard lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He had farmed, was a truck driver for French Implement, and was manager of Big Oak Farms 16 years. He was a member of Dorena Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Maynard of Bonne Terre, Kevin Maynard of East Prairie; two daughters, Dianne Phipps of Tullahoma, Tenn., Jeanne Shaw of Chesterfield; two sisters, Lois Masterson and Helen Matthews of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie from 5-9 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Tommy Griffin and Dave Fambrough will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Charleston.
