Muriel L. Kelley, 98, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 21, 2018, at Heartland Care and Rehab.
She was born Jan. 5, 1920, in St. James, Missouri, to J.C. and Minnie Lee Givens Southard. She married Earl Kelley, who preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1982.
She was head cook at Cape Girardeau Central High School cafeteria for more than 30 years.
She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her son, Lloyd Kelley of Jackson; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Howard Kelley and Willard Kelley; six brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Rudolph officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
