Morris Albert Haman, 86, of Pleasant View, Tenn., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Sterling House Assisted Living in Goodlettsville, Tenn.

He was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, to Albert and Kate Bast Haman. He and Marjorie R. Harris were married March 20, 1948, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 30, 2002.

Haman was a 1942 graduate of College High School in Cape Girardeau, and attended Southeast Missouri State University until his enlistment into the Army.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in New Guinea and the Philippines, receiving two Bronze Stars.

Haman was an engineer with AT&T 39 years in Jackson, and was a licensed amateur ham radio operator, WOTFH. He was a member of VFW Post 3838.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha (Ed) Hodges of Pleasant View; a grandson, Tommy (Jennifer) Hodges of Sylva, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Carson and Ella Hodges.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, and again Wednesday until service time.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cape County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Tom Sullenger officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
