Charles Monty "Waldo" Masengill, 64, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his home.
He was born Oct. 1, 1949, in Summersville, Missouri, son of Harbert and Nova Jean Dixon Masengill. He and Terry Lee Shockley were married Oct. 8, 1974.
Monty was drafted into the United States Army in 1968, served in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1970.
After serving his country, he was a long-haul truck driver.
Loving survivors include his wife of 39 years, Terry; daughter Tammy (David) Taylor and their children, Charles, Donald, and Kimberly of Wallace, Kansas; daughter Montica Babers and sons, Derrick, Nick and Phillip of Jackson; daughter Charlie Masengill and daughter, Remi of Jackson; stepmother, Nealma Masengill of Mountain Grove, Missouri; sisters Kay Terrill White and Karen (Kevin) Helton of Summersville, and Connie (Pat) Stuart of Willow Springs, Missouri; brother Jerry (Michelle) Masengill of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Monty was preceded in death by his father, Harbert Masengill; his mother, Nova Jean Dixon Terrill; a granddaughter, Christal Taylor; a brother, Curtis Terrill; and stepfather, Robert Terrill.
Visitation and a celebration of life service were held July 13 at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville.
