Monica Lynn Popp, 42, of Jackson walked into God's heavenly arms Saturday, March 29, 2014.

She was born Sept. 14, 1971, in Independence, Mo., to Lynn Paul Ainsworth and JoAnn Strack Fee.

Monica and Roger Popp were married on Nov. 1, 1997, at Cape Girardeau.

She graduated from Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. Monica courageously fought a debilitating illness for more than 10 years. Before becoming ill she managed Babbages and was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield and also as a cosmetologist. Monica was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and although she was unable to attend regularly she had a great faith in her savior. She was a member of the VFW Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary.

She and her husband loved to travel and be outdoors. She always enjoyed the Altenburg, Mo., fair. She had the softest heart of anyone you would ever meet. She never met a stranger. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched, especially her little Yorkie, Maddie.

She is survived by her husband and parents; son, Dustin (Jessica) Popp of Perryville, Mo.; sister, Lee Ann (Randy) Brugger of Cape Girardeau; three loving grandparents, Margaret Strack and Leon and Allene Ainsworth, all of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Katelyn York, Kelcee Popp and Konnor Popp; and numerous family and friends.
