MONA WEEMS

BENTON -- Mona Verneal Weems, 43, of Benton died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 25, 1954, in Stoddard County, daughter of Joe R. and Wretha M. Cobb Williams. She and Michael Weems were married Dec. 2, 1972.

Weems was employed at Good Humor Breyers in Sikeston. She had lived near Benton the past five years.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Weems of Benton; two daughters, Michelle Coscione and Sonya Tidwell of Benton; and her mother, Wretha Minton of Bernie.

Also surviving are seven brothers, Robert Williams of California, Wayne Williams of Oak Grove, La., Ronnie, Donnie and Randy Williams of Bernie, Allen Williams of Holcomb, Ricky Williams of Parma; five sisters, Joyce Moore of Malden, Carol Lacey of Scott City, Peggy Weems of East Prairie, Ann Weems of Toccoa, Ga., Patricia Chance of Bernie; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Mike Cartwright and Gary Weems officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
