JACKSON -- Mona J. Slemmer, 76, of Jackson died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 7, 1921, at Bell City, daughter of Harrison and Ida Jane Drew McCulley. She and Walter G. Slemmer were married July 9, 1938. He died April 7, 1989.
Slemmer worked at Lee-Rowan a number of years. She was a member of Old Salem United Methodist Church at Millersville and its United Methodist Women, and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Boyd Slemmer of Jackson; a daughter, Cynthia Underwood of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Capitola Reed of Cape Girardeau, Melba McCulley of Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and three brothers.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Rister officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
