EAST PRAIRIE -- Mona C. Traylor, 86, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, May 21, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 5, 1905, in East Prairie, daughter of William David and Nancy Ellen Powers Carter. She first married Clyde Thornbrough, who died in 1944. She later married Blanton S. Traylor March 9, 1947. He died Aug. 15, 1969.
She was a bookkeeper at the Western Auto Store she and her husband owned and operated many years. She was a member of Nelson Memorial Methodist Church and active in its Belle Bennett Circle.
Survivors include a daughter, Mona Andrews of East Prairie; three grandchildren, Cynthia Watkins of Bloomfield, Jeanne Cowger of Sikeston, Keith Andrews of East Prairie, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, brother and five sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Clinton Wofford will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Robert Burke. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
