EAST PRAIRIE -- Mollie Mae Keene, 77, of East Prairie died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at her home. She was born Dec. 31, 1921, in the Sugartree Ridge community near East Prairie, daughter of Fred Buck and Bertha Lee Bisher Conyers. She and Leslie Keene Sr. were married July 22, 1939, at New Madrid. He died May 19, 1986...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Mollie Mae Keene, 77, of East Prairie died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at her home.

She was born Dec. 31, 1921, in the Sugartree Ridge community near East Prairie, daughter of Fred Buck and Bertha Lee Bisher Conyers. She and Leslie Keene Sr. were married July 22, 1939, at New Madrid. He died May 19, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Leslie Keene Jr. of East Prairie; two daughters, Carolyn Sweet of Bertrand, Susan Cartwright of East Prairie; two brothers, Ernest Conyers of Barlow, Ky., and Lonnie Conyers of Wickliffe, Ky.

Also surviving are five sisters, Freddie Colson of Carmi, Ill., Rovina Phillips of Elsberry, Faye Forrester, Lois Looney and Helen Jacobs, all of East Prairie; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons and three brothers.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
