THEBES, Ill. 00 Funeral for Mitchell Lanier of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., will be held at 1 p.m. today at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg. The Rev. Bobby Gobble will officiate. Burial will be in Summertown Cemetery, with full military honors.

Lanier, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
He was born Nov. 30, 1920, son of William Lawson and Linnie Mae Harper Lanier. He first married Agnes Durham, who preceded him in death. He later married Mary Helen Smith.
Lanier was a farmer and antique dealer. He was a member of Alexander County Freewill Baptist Church, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was formerly of Thebes.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia Knapp of Thebes; two sisters, Ida Barrows of Akron, Ohio, Florence Counts of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
