Mitchell George

COBDEN, Ill. -- Mitchell W. George, 47, of Carmel, Maine, and formerly of Cobden, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine.

He was born May 23, 1955, in Cobden, son of Leslie and Mary Ann Dangbar George. He and Donna Day were married Sept. 6, 1988, in Augusta, Ga.

He was a carpenter and a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Cobden.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shannon Marie George of Carmel; three stepsons, Jerry Hedgecock of Muscatine, Iowa, Bill Hedgecock of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Tony Hedgecock of Dearing, Ga.; five sisters, Charleen Holderfield, Shirley Jones, Rosemary Cates and Pauline Dillow, all of Cobden, and Sally Wright of Salem, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joey McKinnies officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
