EAST PRAIRIE -- Minnie Beatrice Wheatley, 49, of East Prairie died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston. She was born June 29, 1949, at Wolf Island, daughter of Enoch Merryman II and Ethel Irene Carden Merryman. She lived all of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Minnie Beatrice Wheatley, 49, of East Prairie died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston.

She was born June 29, 1949, at Wolf Island, daughter of Enoch Merryman II and Ethel Irene Carden Merryman.

She lived all of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.

She married William Paul "Bill" Wheatley on Jan. 8, 1968.

Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, William "B.J." Wheatley of the home; two daughters, Melissa Marie Crumley of Bertrand and Beverly Lee Ann Wheatley of East Prairie; five brothers, Jerry Merryman and Phillip Johnson, both of Anniston, Henry L. Merryman of Mount Carroll, Ill., John William Merryman of Rockford, Ill., and Earl "Chuck" Merryman of East Prairie; five sisters, Ruth Coleman and Lonie Blasingain, both of Anniston, Ruby Joyce Grogan of Clearfield, Utah, Sherry Rayburn of Cooter and Mary Vines of Wyatt; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and two sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Shelby Chapel.

Brothers Mike Johnson and Burl Britt will officiate. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
