Minnie M. Compas, 87, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at Southeast Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Jackson to Henry and Rosine Schmidt Sandvoss. She and Raymond L. Compas were married Sept. 3, 1949 at Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 21, 2008 Mrs. Compas had worked at Jackson Shoe Factory for 44 years. She loved to play bingo, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed going to yard sales...

Minnie M. Compas, 87, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Jackson to Henry and Rosine Schmidt Sandvoss.

She and Raymond L. Compas were married Sept. 3, 1949 at Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 21, 2008 Mrs. Compas had worked at Jackson Shoe Factory for 44 years. She loved to play bingo, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed going to yard sales.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Steve (Martha Ann) Compas of Jackson; two daughters, Pam (Boyce) Church of Cape Girardeau and Kathy (Buck) Beard of Jackson; two sisters, Mildred Hartle of Cape Girardeau and Alleen Boswell of Cahokia, Ill.; grandchildren, Darren (Carol) Compas of Little Rock, Ark., Kristal Compas of Ottowa, Kan., Benjamin Schlenker of Cape Girardeau, Emily Church of Cape Girardeau, Clay (Amy) Church of Millersville, Amy (James) Huskey of Jackson, Joey (Amber) Beard of Cape Girardeau; and great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Cambri Huskey.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, and brothers, George Sandvoss and Robert Sandvoss.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
