PUXICO -- Minnie Hastings Bloomdied May 15, 1978. She later married Harry Edwin Bloomquist Dec. 31, 1978, in Palm Beach County, Fla.
Bloomquist worked most of her life on a farm. She worked in defense plants in St. Louis during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. She owned a restaurant in Advance, and worked at a country music radio station in Palm Beach, Fla., before retiring.
She was a member of Palm Dale Presbyterian Church in Melbourne.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Evelyn Potter of St. Louis, Edna Medlock of Ballwin; a son, Edwin Hastings of Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Joan Schultz of North Miami, Fla., and Janet Martin of Indianlantic, Fla.
Also surviving are three sisters, Clola Duffey of Bloomfield, Elva Cagle of Sikeston, Nadene French of Buchanan, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and four brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 10 a.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wiley McGhee officiating. Burial will be in Feagan Cemetery near Puxico.
