Minerva G. Pett, 93, 334 N. Fountain, died Tuesday, May 31, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born June 17, 1900, in New Madrid, daughter of Murray and Annie Davis Phillips. She first married Joseph Graham in 1925 at New Madrid. She later married Ted Pett in 1949 in Minneapolis, Minn. Both preceded her in death...

Minerva G. Pett, 93, 334 N. Fountain, died Tuesday, May 31, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born June 17, 1900, in New Madrid, daughter of Murray and Annie Davis Phillips. She first married Joseph Graham in 1925 at New Madrid. She later married Ted Pett in 1949 in Minneapolis, Minn. Both preceded her in death.

Pett was a housekeeper 50 years for a Cape Girardeau family, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. James AME Church and its Elder Mothers, Golden Age Club, and life member of NAACP.

Survivors include 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Church, with the Rev. Simon Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
