FRIEDHEIM, Mo. -- Milton Charles Dickmann, 85, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Winter Haven Health and Rehab. He was born April 1, 1920, at Friedheim, son of Arthur H. and Hulda R. Springer Dickmann. He and Leila O. Bergman were married Nov. 25, 1945. She died March 12, 1996...

FRIEDHEIM, Mo. -- Milton Charles Dickmann, 85, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Winter Haven Health and Rehab.

He was born April 1, 1920, at Friedheim, son of Arthur H. and Hulda R. Springer Dickmann. He and Leila O. Bergman were married Nov. 25, 1945. She died March 12, 1996.

Dickmann worked in contract management with the U.S. Air Force and Navy. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven and Disabled American Veterans.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and flew on 35 bombing missions on Japan.

Survivors include three sons, David Dickmann of Denver, Colo., Glenn Dickmann of Battle Creek, Mich., Kevin Dickmann of Chicago; a daughter, Virginia Bryant of Haines City, Fla.; a brother, Allen Dickmann of Cahokia, Ill.; a sister, Lorna Bachmann of Perryville, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christopher Cole officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 133.
