Millie Jane Ragsdale, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
She was born March 5, 1908, at Campbell, Mo., daughter of Fletcher and Dora Wilkins Jackson. She and Raymond Ragsdale were married May 18, 1929, at Charleston, Mo. He died Sept. 25, 1984.
Ragsdale attended Arkansas State University, University of Memphis, and Southeast Missouri State University. She taught at University High School, and at schools in Sikeston, Charleston, Campbell, Kennett and Poplar Bluff, Mo., and in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a teacher 43 years, retiring Sept. 1, 1972.
She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1954, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Edwin Jackson of Sebring, Fla.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gazebo at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. Andy Pratt will officiate.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 9-10 a.m. Friday.
