ANNA, Ill. -- Millie Marie "Bo" McMahan Gardner, 75, of Anna died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 20, 1931, at Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of Merritt Estin and Beulah Ella Bittle McMahan. She and Charles W. Gardner were married Dec. 24, 1951, in Anna.
Millie Marie "Bo" McMahan Gardner is survived by her husband; two brothers, Archie (Roberta) McMahan and Joe McMahan of Anna; two sisters, Patricia (Donald) Schlenker of Jonesboro, Ill., Vickie (Gary) Sadler of Cape Girardeau; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Gardner; and a brother, Merritt McMahan Jr.
Millie Marie "Bo" McMahan Gardner was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 3455 in Anna, Ladies Auxiliary to Anna Moose Lodge 1346, Zeta Psi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, life member of Jonesboro Eastern Star, Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club, a board member of ASH Employers Credit Union and member of American Diabetes Association.
She was employed more than 20 years at G.C. Murphy Store in Anna. She retired from Choate Mental and Developmental Center, where she was manager of the print shop 25 years.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Joe Aldridge and Greg Bittle officiating. Interment will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral fund committee at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
