Millie Sue Ancell, 70, of Scott City died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at her home. She was born Jan. 17, 1941, in Scott City, to Theodore Aden and Mildred Faye Pinkston Wolfe. She married Jerry "Nordie" Ancell on Sept. 19, 1959, in Illmo. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2004...

Millie Sue Ancell, 70, of Scott City died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at her home.

She was born Jan. 17, 1941, in Scott City, to Theodore Aden and Mildred Faye Pinkston Wolfe. She married Jerry "Nordie" Ancell on Sept. 19, 1959, in Illmo. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2004.

Ancell was a former operator with Southwestern Bell.

Survivors include a son, Jerry "Bub" Ancell Jr. of Benton, Mo.; a daughter, Robin (Joseph) Walker of Scott City; 12 grandchildren, Craig (Rachael) Ancell, Kadi (J.R.) Ancell, Cash and Eli Ancell, Skylar, Desarae, Hunter, Tucker, Keaton, Jennifer and Joey Walker; four great-grandchildren, Bella and Julia Ancell, Jesse and Khymbreighla Kuykendoll; four stepsisters, Dorothy Crites of Cape Girardeau, Janie Crites, Mary Sue Crites and Theresa Echols, all of Scott City; a stepbrother, Mike Crites of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Presson and Rhae Wise; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfather, Basil Crites; a son, Gregory Todd Ancell; a sister, Bobbie Avery; and a granddaughter, McKenzie Walker.

Special thanks to her niece, Shelly Huckstep, for her special caregiving.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.

Donations may be made to help cover funeral expenses.
