Milford E. Allen, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Burfordville, son of Ray and Rhoda Johnson Allen. He and Barbara Clark were married in 1967. In 1986, he married Velma Lizenbee Jones, who survives.
Allen was a farmer, a heavy equipment operator for Kenny Seabaugh Construction Co. of Jackson and later started his own excavation company. Since 1985, he was employed for Kelley Construction Co. in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Matthew E. Allen of Butler, Ind.; two brothers, Larry Allen of Jackson and Mike Allen of Imperial, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Aufdenberg of Jackson; a stepson, Jimmie Jones of Portageville, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Laurel Ward of Jackson and Charlotte Ste-phens of Halls, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a step-son.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
